Healthy, wholesome, and simple, yet satisfying recipes from a food-obsessed housewife

Hi! I’m Jordyn-a new wife, runner, mental health therapist, and lover of food. For as long as I can remember, I have been in love with food! Healthy HousewifeGod gave me a passion for cooking early on, and growing up in a food and fitness obsessed family, it became clear very quickly that if I was going to be THIS obsessed with food, I better start choosing ones that would benefit me and my body.

Over the course of my college years, along with a part-time job at a nutritionist’s office, I became intensely interested in nutrition and exercise. Like many women, growing up, I struggled with thinking I was overweight, and constantly attempted intermittent binge dieting to feel better. Yet, through the knowledge I obtained from research on nutrition and getting thoroughly addicted to working out, I was able to overhaul my habits and engage in a lifestyle change.

From switching to a low-carb/low-sugar diet, combined with exercise I was able to drop 15 pounds. I have kept the weight off for over two years now and feel the best I ever have!   But, this blog is not about weight, its about nourishing your body with the wholesome, natural foods God has given us- and enjoying cooking and experimenting with them!

The Healthy Housewife was created out of my desire to share my passion, recipes and adventures in cooking wholesome, natural, and satisfying foods. The more I cook and talk about food, the more it seems friends and family are asking for my recipes- so coming up with a place to share them seemed like the next step!  

As a newly married woman (well, already almost two years now!), my desire to develop and create healthy meals for my husband and I continues to grow. Here you will find healthy, wholesome recipes which are mostly low-carb and low- sugar. If they aren’t, well, they just fulfill my HEALTHY appetite! I hope to provide you with knowledge about certain foods, such as nutritional properties and benefits while including a delicious recipe for that item. My love for running, exercise, nutrition and the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle is one of my greatest passions and it is my joy to share it with you!
