Avocado Deviled Eggs
If you’re a follower of this blog, then you are well aware that my husband and I’s favorite restaurant of all time is Zgrille.
In all our travels, from Seattle to Mexico, nothing seems to compare to our beloved Zgrille. I first heard about the restaurant from my cousin, who swore we had to get there asap and try their deviled eggs.
My response? “Ehh, I don’t really like deviled eggs”. She replied, “Trust me Jord, go try these.” So we did, and our lives have never been the same.
Health Benefits
Avocado-promotes heart health, provides the body with healthy omega-3′s, good source of potassium, increases the absorption of carotenoids from vegetables, and has phytonutrients that combat oral cancer
Eggs-high in protein, great source of choline for brain function and health, and reduce inflammation
Zgrille offers a deviled egg of the day, as well as their signature “Cali”-avocado, bacon, and a splash of hot sauce. Complete bliss. And now that we’ve converted many of our friends to also share the same love for these deviled eggs, I’ve gotten a request to try and replicate the recipe at home.
So here’s my version of the Avocado deviled egg. Hopefully, just as good, but I in no way claim to possess the culinary prowess of Chef Zack from Zgrille. But, if you’re wanting to make these eggs at home, give this recipe a try! Great as an appetizer for a party, or a healthy snack.

Avocado Deviled Eggs
Ingredients
6 hard boiled eggs
1 medium avocado, diced small
2 1/2 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 teaspoons lime juice
1 garlic clove, crushed
1/8 teaspoon cayenne
3 slices of turkey bacon, cooked and chopped (some reserved)
sea salt
1 jalapeno, sliced (optional)
hot sauce (optional)
Directions
Begin by cutting eggs in half, scoop yolks out of eggs and place in a mixing bowl. (I usually do 1-2 less yolks).
Mash yolks with a fork and add in diced avocados, mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic, cayenne pepper, bacon and salt to taste. Place avocado mixture in a piping bag and pipe into egg white. Top each egg with a piece of bacon, slice of jalapeno, and a dash of hot sauce if desired. Enjoy!
