Avocado Smoothie (heaven in a glass?)

The hubby and I are constantly on the run right now. Last night? Got home from work at 8:30, crashed by 11, gym this morning at 5:30, then back to work for another long day.

In the midst of this craziness, I am still craving healthy snacks and meals. Rather than a green monster, or constantly stopping by whole foods for a smoothie (which I may have already done 3 times this week), I sifted through some of my old bookmarked, “must try” healthy recipes.

Health Benefits

Avocado-promotes heart health, provides the body with healthy omega-3′s, good source of potassium, increases the absorption of carotenoids from vegetables, and has phytonutrients that combat oral cancer
Raw honey- acts as an anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal substance, what’s not to love?

I came across this avocado smoothie from Whole Family Fare. I love avocado so much I could bathe in it (if it was liquid, that is)…so when I found this recipe, I knew we were a match made in heaven :)

The creaminess the avocado gives this smoothie an indulgent, heavenly taste. Go make it now!!! Let me know if its love for you too.

Avocado

Avocado Smoothie

makes 2
Ingredients
1 ripe avocado
1 banana
1 kiwi
2 teaspoons of raw honey (or agave)
1 cup almond milk (or milk of your choice)

Directions
Combine ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth. Add additional milk or honey until desired thickness and sweetness. Enjoy!!

*This smoothie was very good, but I think I still love the green monster more? Blame it on the peanut butter :)
